How to choose the right veterinarian |

In most of our home dog education classes they ask us if we know of a trusted veterinarian to take their dogs. As you know, we take our dogs to our two reference veterinary clinics, but we have realized that in the vast majority of households there is a dog in the family they do not have a veterinarian they trust. That's why I decided to create this entry, to help you to select a veterinarian San Tan Valley. That is to say, your place of reference to go as much for a vaccine, a deworming as for some more serious reason. What would be the keys to selecting that reference clinic? 1. Friendly clinic or also called Dog Friendly. That is, a clinic where both professionals and space is as appropriate as possible for the physical and emotional well-being of our four-legged companion. By this we mean, to use non-slip carpets, to check large dogs on the ground. 2. The CV is very important, but it is also important that you have knowledge related to dog behavior and handling. This way you will know what the signs of calm, stress, threat are ... and how to help the dog to manage different situations. 3. Waiting rooms for everyone. Luckily, there are more and more clinics where they have separate places for dogs and cats, where they can wait their turn as stress-free as possible. Even some, have specific queries for dogs and cats. 4. That take into account the behavioral needs of your dog. If you have a fearful dog, your dog is in heat or any other reason why the dog needs more space and tranquility, a veterinary clinic aware of these specific needs will give you an appointment at first or last hour of the day. 5. Courtesy visits. It is important that you are willing to ever spend with your dog just to say "hello". A quick visit, where there are pampering and good memories. Where there are no vaccines, manipulations, so your dog will not associate the veterinarian with stressful moments. 6. Apaciguantes Pheromones (Adaptil or Feliway if we talk about cats) that help dogs (and cats) to manage complicated situations. If the consultation of your veterinarian has always put the diffuser, it is a good sign. 7. Last but not least, especially for your dog :) ... is that you get a prize in food. O several! We all know what our dogs are, and it never hurts if we help them overcome the bad drink with a rich chuche. Finally, advise that in your search for a good veterinary clinic do not focus only on the economic part. Of course it is a point to take into account, but as we usually say "The veterinarian is not expensive, it is expensive." That is to say, the training with which the veterinarian counts has to be paid. Like the time he has devoted to us, even if he has not sent us any medication. And we assure you that a good veterinarian, even if it seems initially expensive, in the short-term you will be profitable because you will be qualified to find what happens to your dog. We hope we have helped you and that you have to go very rarely to the vet. Only if they are courtesy visits
